JAKARTA: The Jakarta Transportation Agency has revoked 504 bus-route permits owned by PT Mayasari Bhakti since April because the buses did not serve the designated routes.

Agency head Udar Pristono said on Tuesday that the agency had given three warnings and frozen the permits.

The revoked permits were for 139 air-conditioned express buses, 104 non- air-conditioned express buses and 261 regular buses.

The agency also froze the permits of 37 other buses in May because they violated the conditions of the permit by carrying protestors during May Day demonstrations,

“The revocation aims to curb bus route violations and to improve the city’s bus services to be safe, comfortable, orderly and organized,” Udar said.
